buildings not requiring an architect

The following is a list of buildings that DO NOT require design and construction documents to be prepared by a licensed architect in order to be constructed in the State of Oklahoma. [Please refer to the 2003 International Building Code, Chapter 3: Use and Occupancy Classification.] Oklahoma State Architectural and Interior Designers Act (OS 59-46.1 Effective July 1, 2006)

Exempt Use Groups (Buildings NOT requiring an architectural seal)
A-2 & A-3 Assembly (Sec 303) _ 50 persons max; Not exceeding 2 stories Including, but not limited to: Banquet halls, Night clubs, Restaurants, Taverns and bars, Churches, Community halls, Funeral Parlors, Gyms, Libraries, Museums, etc.

 

E – Educational (Sec 305): through the 12th grade; 50 persons max; Not exceeding 2 stories
